gematria is an ancient form of numerology that has been used since the first century BC. It is a system of assigning numerical values to letters in the alphabet which is then used to calculate spiritual or prophetic meaning from a person's name, words, and phrases. Gematria has been used for centuries by different cultures and religions, such as Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

To use Gematria to uncover spiritual messages in a person's name or words of a phrase, one must first understand Gematria's numerical system. Each letter in the alphabet is assigned a numerical value from one to nine, based on its Hebrew equivalent (or Greek for Greek letters). Alternatively if you were to divide this sum by seven: 31 / 7 = 4 4/7 = 4 = Davar - The Word which corresponds to wisdom.
